Godspeed Notepad

Hello everyone, this is how I usually write. I write using the basic and pre-installed software in Microsoft Windows called "Notepad". When writing on a device like this, we often get distracted a lot. Some of us want to use minimalistic but aesthetically pleasing software as an excuse to boost our productivity β€” I've been guilty of this too. Sometimes I will spend my time searching for software that suits my kind of writing; minimalist and distraction-free. However, as I soon came to realize β€” the best software works like a piece of paper. Easily reachable and quick. Nothing is quicker and easier than typing on a Notepad in the search bar and then being presented with a blank canvas. Visually it looks bleak and uninteresting, but that's beside the point, the point being writing. As a person who writes freely, I believe that ideas should be able to be put into written words quickly and efficiently; and that's all there's to it. Hence why I wrote the draft and edited it in this software. For further formatting like bold, italic, etc, I leave it to the blog's CMS feature.

The point is, we don't need an excuse to write. There is an abundance of stories about how writers write an idea quickly on a piece of receipt paper, toilet paper, β€” and on account of this era, smartphones. Writes anywhere but sometimes, not everywhere. Some people, including me, prefer to write in a quiet and peaceful place. Our brain has considered this place to be viable for writing. Maybe a narrow room; library; or the park. The option for places is the only thing that is justifiable when we're trying to write. Regardless, the media of where we write need not be so much more than that functionality of a piece of paper.

This has become a widespread problem. Some people can only read a book physically instead of its digital counterpart. Of course, there are reasons and arguments about what, why, and how. At the end of the day, you choose when, where, and how you will write.
