The Other Side of Journaling
I love journaling, and that's a fact. I have written an abundance of entries up to this day. But there are times when Iāve had to leave it altogetherāa year was the longest break Iāve taken.
A journal can be anythingāwritten in many ways. Personally, I keep it as a diary and use it as a place to write internal thoughts. I usually do the latter. I donāt have many people to talk to, and plus, I have a lot to say. Thatās why I picked up journaling as a way to accommodate those times.
However, sadly, writing all of those things down doesnāt substitute for a meaningful conversation. What I really needed was an exchangeāa response. Thatās why I got tired and scared of writing another entry at times. I just wound up being a broken record.
Now, I think of it as a double-edged sword. Some people might approach it as a kind of journaling burnout. Itās better to take a break than to hate the thing you love. Itās not like youāre going to miss everything by not writing an entry. Take your time.
